Sighting: Webb Hubbell (the sequel)

I know. Another B-grade celeb that I've already seen.
At 10:40 a.m., I had just finished a Sunday long run and was at the Superfresh at 48th and Yuma and saw the big man again. He had a hand basket with 2 bottles of white wine and a six-pack of Country Time Lemonade amongst other things and was waiting in the express line.
---------
So the training is going fairly well. I'm not saying I'm going to turn in a flashy time or anything, but I do think I will finish....

Race Update

So it looks like I'll be running afterall. I didn't run all last week and then tried the long run on Sunday: Georgetown/Key Bridge to Virginia side to 14th Street Bridge, back on to the car. 8 miles in about 75 minutes. Nothing flashy. But I felt good at the end. My calf was tender at first, but it feels even better today.
So hey.
It's the Cherry Blossom 10-miler on Mrs. ETJB's 30th birthday.
Big brunch afterwards.

Last Week Sucked

Last week sucked the big one. Extra work, under the gun, long irrelevant meetings, etc.

Highlights:
On Wednesday at 6 a.m., I slid down the entire length of the basement stairs. I bounced right up, nauseous. Nice start to the day. I now have a deep dark bruise the shape of North Carolina on my left ass.

On Friday a.m., I dreamt that I was tired. That's right. In my dream, I kept saying, I'm tired. That's so pathetic.

On Sunday, I hurt my leg while training for the Cherry Blossom 10-miler. I had to walk back to my car in Georgetown from the 14th Street Bridge.

I'm working late tonite, probably until 9 p.m. That's a 13 hour day.

So screw it. What am I going to do? Whine? No, not me. Not the ETJB.

Bring it on. More please, you bitches.

We were pretty social this weekend: Folks over on Friday. Dinner with friends on Saturday. Baby ETJB is much less upsetable these days, enjoying hanging out.

I think next weekend, we'll try to stay in and deal with household projects. Five days until then, though.

See: working for the weekend.
